The Massachusetts Horticultural Society has its headquarters at Elm Bank in Wellesley, Massachusetts - about 15 miles west of Boston.  See http://www.masshort.org/  for photos and information about the site and gardens.  The Bressingham Garden was designed by English plantsman Adrian Bloom and should not be missed. 

Mount Auburn Cemetery is also one of the most gorgeous places on earth  http://www.mountauburn.org/national_landmark/horticulture.cfm - It is just outside the city of Boston in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum is the oldest public arboretum in North America.  http://arboretum.harvard.edu/visit/  - not gardens, per se - but right in town.

If you have the time and the inclination - you should take the time to see http://www.hmnh.harvard.edu/on_exhibit/the_glass_flowers.html - obviously not a garden, but still absolutely gorgeous!  The weather pattern here lately has been quite unpredictable - more so than usual - we had a few unseasonably warm days (90's) last week, but this weekend is cold and rainy - so having an indoor option might be just the ticket!

In the heart of the city is the Boston Public Garden with its famous Swan Boats ------- in operation since 1877.  Riding on the swan boat will always be one of my favorite childhood memories.

Going to Boston next week to WAFA (world assoc. of flower arrangers) Never been to Boston before, haven't had time to spend searching - so, what gardens are there in the area? What should we not miss???
