Gene,
This friend didn't know which species of waterleaf. I just guessed from googling pics. As you know, I divide frequently and pot up volunteers to grow on for my 2x/yr sale, so I don't usually mind if something likes to jump.

Corydalis lutea is a jumper. Same friend gave me that years ago and it does end up all over, but some of those places it selected were better than I might have chosen myself. It seeded into a rock border and now cascades over the edge; very pretty.

Celandine Poppy, Stylophorum diphyllum, is another jumper. Some people think it's weedy; I think it's sweet. But only so far; I don't want it everywhere. They're easy enought o take out where you don't want them.

A few that have sent out volunteers in recent years that surprised me were Lamium which jumped to the other side of the back yard, backyard Mertensia that showed up in front of the house, and a Japanese Painted Fern that showed up in a path 20 ft from my planting.

Anyone have other jumpers of interest?

Gene, if I send you some $ would you throw some waterleaf in a box or envelope and send to me after your shipping season settles down for summer?

Just off top of my head... there are something like5 species of
perennial waterleaf. I have two of them in my garden and will say I have
been trying to get rid of them after about 3 or 4 years with each one...they are all through my gardens. Each to his own, but I am working to get rid of
them.

I admired the coloring on a plant in a friend's garden; she called it
waterleaf. I think it to be Hydrophyllum macrophyllum. She did give me a
single leaf with a few roots, but it didn't survive in the hubbub of spring
activity. Could someone suggest from whom I might order this plant?
