Awe, sorry the Goldfinch are gone for you Kitty!  I have two, I can’t say 
they are a pair but two have been back twice this Spring. I seem able to 
sense when they migrate and know when to put out the last feeder.
We don’t get many Butterflies, at least not round my way. Cabbage whites lol..
