Keith et al.,
What can you tell me about O. missouriensis? I was on business trip in
Kansas this week, the Konza Prairie to be exact. Saw a low-growing
Oenothera with huge bright yellow flowers everywhere. When I first saw
them, from a distance, thought some researcher had put out yellow marking
flags. Tentatively id'd it after I got home as missouriensis. Am I right?
How would a plant like this do in hot, humid, East TN summers do you
think..

I know O. missourienisis does well in hot, humid Southern Indiana summers.
I once tried to start the white flowered form from seed....and got lots of
yellow-flowered plants.
Very nice plants. Japanese beetles *love* them, too. <sigh>
