Re: Oenethera

On the subject of Oenethera, I'd love to know what variety I have. It was
given to me last year by a colleague who was thinning her garden. Can anyone
ID it?

It grows to about 1 1/2 feet tall, its yellow blossoms close in the evening,
and the foliage turns bright red in the autumn. It is VERY invasive. I've
never seen anything take off that much in one year. I don't mind this, I just
have to make sure it isn't choking the life out of something I particularily
like. I wish I had a bigger garden and could let it go nuts.
