Re: 97-98 Plant Finder Book

I rely on it as do many in the UK as my primary taxonomic reference,
although being from the UK some plants in the US are not in it. I also find
the lists of collections, plants which have won awards and addresses useful
especially when travelling in the UK. MORE USEFUL even is the CDrom
version, the new edition which just came last month. With many updates and
changes since the first version last year, I find it one of the most user
friendly plant CDs I've seen allowing one to quickly check out a plant, its
sources by UK region, common names, seed sources, whether it is poisonous,
and whether and where listed in which photo library. There are other
references on or reviewed on the CD which can be unlocked for additional
charges. The Internet Directory of Botany, as of March this year, is also
on it and can be easily used with web browers. All in all a very
interactive CD. With book orders now handled by the sponsor-- the RHS at
Wisley-- mine arrived in record time. Ordering information and contacts for
both CD and book are at http://www.plantfinder.co.uk/.
