I'm interested in experiences that anyone has had with the Bourbon Rose
- Souvenir de la Malmaison.
I'm in Zone 5, suburban Chicago, and I planted one last year. I found
out that I had the climbing sport, and it didn't bloom at all last
year. I thought that it was either the very wet spring or because it
was a first year rose. This year, I do have one bud on the plant, but
the other canes seem to be growing very tall as they had last year,
without buds.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can encourage more bloom? I have been
fertilizing the rose at about the same frequency as my Hybrid Teas and
such (every 2 to 4 weeks). I will try cutting down the frequency.
