ADMIN: System changes

Thank you to all of you who responded with such overwhelming support!

The changes have been in place for about 36 hours now with no ill effects
that I can see.  There was one message that came from an unknown address,
but I was able to transparently redirect it back to the list.  I challenge
you all to find it!  :)

This doesn't protect us all from spamming, but it will prevent incidents
like the one this past weekend from happening again.  Once again, I
apologize to you all for the inconvenience.
