I haven't had that problem at all, but perhaps if you have the right
combinations of great soil, water, etc...they will become rampant.  Also, I
think some Monarda are more so than others.  I know the Scarlet Monarda I had
was about to declare war on one of my beds (the one in full sun for 8 hrs a
day).  I pulled it all out-or so I thought.  That was last year and guess what
popped up this year?  One lone stalk, but I know there are others!  They have
runners underground, so it is difficult to get em all.  I will let this one
stay and if it can behave it will remain...otherwise......
