Not disputing your word but there might be a passiflora that grows wild in
Alabama. There is one that grows wild here in Missouri, zone 6. It is
beautiful. Reminds me of a sea anemone. In fact, I just planted one on my
lattice shade house 2 weeks ago. The fruit is indeed edible. Many people
here say it is invasive and comes up everywhere. I hope so.
