Lisa,

The 'White Knight' shasta daisies I started from seed last year have
been blooming for about a month now are still going strong. The
individual plants have decided to bloom sequentially despite identical
soil, water & light. They bloomed a little last year and this year the
plants have been totally covered with bloom. I'm deadheading and hoping
for some fall bloom.

The plants range in size from 15-22" and the short, strong, stems
haven't needed any staking despite some 40-70 mph winds, nasty rains
and a little hail. We had a very mild winter so I don't know if they
will winter over well with normal temps. Early spring was quite wet,
however, which seems to be a big problem for shastas where I live and
these didn't seem to even sulk. Also, we had some extreme temperature
fluctuations this spring and that didn't seem to bother them either.

Also, I planted ox-eye daisies to attract beneficial insects because I
had read they didn't care for the larger cultivated varieties. It seems
my beneficials didn't read that particular book because they pretty
much ignore the ox-eyes and congregate around the shastas.
