rescuing plants

Hi Jean,

The first year we were here in Michigan, Walmart had one
person that really CARED about 'her' plants, and about 6 who
didn't care one way or another. When they finally gave up
and started discounting the poor little 4" pots of
perennials, sad looking things, really.

I bought 3 tiny pots of "Yarrow, pastel", 2 tiny pots of
Dianthus, and a really bedraggled looking shasta daisy.

I am so pleased to report that the second year these plants
came up, they were absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! And HUGE!!!
I'd had no idea what I was doing when I planted them, but I
sure got lucky.

The second summer we were here in Michigan, the person who
cared about the plants at Walmart didn't work there
anymore. I didn't buy any plants that year. They were all
dead by August, and the manager refused to discount them
before then.

This is our third summer here and we're moving out of
state. I haven't even been to Walmart.......I just can't go
and not try to "rescue" the poor things.

Lisa
