I guess I'm lazy, but I compost leaves in black trash bags. Poke holes all
over to let air and rain in, also assorted bugs and worms. Every now and
then let your kid kick it around the yard to mix it up. You'll end up with
some pretty good stuff next season. I don't compost any food scraps.
There's wildlife in the city that will chew through and cause a mess.
Nothing messes with leaves and yard debris.
