mislabeled plants

Well Kemberly, welcome to the group who live with
mislabeled plants. I was perusing my garden this
afternoon and counting the plants I have that were
supposed to be something else. My pink foxglove that
I planted is starting to bloom and it is white. My
red poppy bloomed early this week and it is a vivid
orange. I planted 3 red Monarda. 2 of them turned
out to be violet and the other one is pink. The
butterfly weed has turned out to be red valerian, The
coreopsis grandiflora began blooming today and it
looks more like a gaillardia. In fact in my whole
garden, the only plants that are what they are
supposed to be are the ones I bought from White Flower
Farm. What is it with these growers.
Off the topic..several years ago my sister who lives
near Atlanta in a pinkish brick house ordered 800
tulip bulbs from a catalogue. She told them they
could mix the colors as long as none of them were
orange. They came, she planted them and the following
spring she was greeted with 800 orange tulips. The
end is that they sent her a complete refund for the
800 orange tulips and the following autumn sent her
800 more tulips free. (this time no orange.) She
asked them if they would send someone to dig up the
800 orange ones but they declined.
The moral is that we have to live with someone else's
mistakes.
