Val - let me look the tag up--I've just put the kids down so I should have
some time to look. I tried the moonbeam too - it lived wonderful through the
summer and then off for summer. I don't know if it was the heat/humidity or
that it just got smothered by July from all the large growing things.
The color wasn't quite as dark as the choc cosmo but there was no
pink.....more similiar to maybe the red of a daylily...does that help????
Can't really say if they would be aggressive here because I didn't get the
chance to find out.
Okay - I found it----Coreopsis tinctoria (Calliopsis) 'Mahogony
Midget'....that's why is was shorter, it is the dwarf variety..described in
the "big book" as rich mahogany-scarlet with yellow centers.
Did you get Don's post a few days ago about how to look up a specific plant
in AtlasVista? You goto AtlasVista then key in "Coreopsis tinctoria" in
quotes and it will do the search.
Good luck
