Are you sure it is a tree peony? I have a shrub/tree that is called a
confederate rose,has leaves that look like cotton plant leaves,we cut it to
the ground each fall after it blooms,mulch it good,next spring here it
comes. It starts blooming in the latter part of Sept./first of Oct.
somewhere around that time each fall. The blooms last one day,are 6-8in
across, they are really a show when they bloomit is about 4-5ft. tall
now,could this be what you have?
