I don't like flies buzzing around my food either. Nylon net is
inexpensive and comes in wide widths. Figure the table length and add
2-3 feet. Open it up and refold it to cut the edges all at once in a
nice scallop. Make a small gather at each corner and tie with a
coordinating color ribbon. The guests will be able to see the food
display through the netting and it's easily whipped off and on. If the
centerpiece is in a basket with an overhead handle, the netting is
usually held well above anything important.
