Which spiderwort do you all grow? My favorite is one of the coarser
ones, Tradescantia ohiensis (Common spiderwort). It tends to be
larger than most spiderworts, but doesn't look nearly as ratty. The
stems are covered with a bluish bloom that provides good contrast
in darker areas, and the true blue flowers are wonderful. Mine
bloom all summer long through August or so and average about 4' high.
If anyone wants any next year, let me know -- I'll probably have seedlings
or divisions that can be made. It's not an elegant plant (and many
view it as a weed), but it is a native that tolerates adverse conditions
very well.
