Since the flower are sort of hooded, maybe I'll go in with a Q-tip and see if I can help things along.

Have you ever taken any divisions of it? How easy and when (I'd guess spring)? I've placed mine next to the house for protection, but it'll be interesting to see if it is hardy enough to survive in other locations.
