Donna,
when I asked for an oriental poppy source, several people e-mailed me and
said that they had a Canadian source or a UK source. I was looking for a
good US source to avoid the problems of shipping charges and long transit
times. No one ever suggested one for me, so I went looking for one that
had unusual varieties. Plenty have common ones; I wanted something besides
the orange, red, white, and pink ho-hum varieties that seem to be
everywhere. I found Busse Gardens again and they carry varieties from
Europe that I haven't seen offered anywhere else. The only drawback is
that they do not have pictures in their catalog, so I'm going to have to go
by their descriptions.
I understand that the best time to get these is for fall planting, so I'm
going to narrow down my choices and go from there.
