Donna & all,
The old fashioned orange daylilies are very hardy. When I started my garden
at my weekend place, I planted a bed down by the lake with various
perennials. To my surprise, several daylilies sprang up in this bed and I
just left them out of curiosity. They turned out to be the double and triple
orange, the oldfashioned ones. They have since sprang up in a couple of my
beds around the yard. We've had this place for 15 years, and apparently we
were just mowing them down in the yard all those years until I made the
flower bed and they sprang up. My neighbor says the previous owner grew them
here. What a testament to a plant's tenacity!
