I live in zone 6a and I don't dig my alliums. You'll find that they're
quite hardy and will multiply readily.
The only thing I know about fall-blooming bulbs is the autumn crocus. I
believe that you can get these easily from McClure and Zimmerman or White
Flower Farm. I have never tried these myself.
