My echinops, which was tagged as ritro, was very slow the first year. No
bloom, only about two feet tall all year. However, the last few years, it
has been getting about twice that height and carries many of those spikey
blue flowers. I grow it next to a Mrs. John Laing rose, which is sort of
half way between a pale and a medium pink. A very nice rose and just the
right shade to go with blue flowers. I really should get a couple more of
them but I haven't seen too many of them for sale.
