Re: Heucheria "Palace Purple"

Dot,I cant believe it, someone else has the same bug as I do...Do they look,in
shape and size like a lady bug? They in addition to gold they can come in a
Mother of Pearl, over casting the gold coloring, astonishingly beautiful..I can
never find any damage to anything so I just let them be.Mine do not fly
away(although they can) as I said they behave (and look) much like lady bugs
exhibiting no fear of me.Interestingly they are almost always on my most
pervasive weed,Bindweed, which is related to your domestic Morning Glory
vines.OH,HOW I wish they could irradicate these dreadful bind weeds!!So
apparently they are specialized eaters.
If any one knows their true identity I would love to know,as when I asked the
County Ag.people they just drew a blank.
Sorry to hear they are damaging your M.G.s..You havent noticed any aphids on
these vines have you?Just maybe they are a form of Lady bug and are helping you
out.Check real close ,or maybe they are breeding on these .If they do much
damage to the bindweed it goes un-noticed as I cant pull it out fast enough to
ever eliminate it..
Hoping someone has an answer for us both.
