It has more likely got to do with the high nitrogen content of urine.
Years ago, I was garden manager for a demonstration facility for
"alternative" homes. My supervisor made a point of having the male staff
members urinate on the corn since corn is a high nitrogen feeder. I can't
vouch for the results since we had no control sample to compare it to, but
I've never forgotten.....
