Dying Gladiolus?

Greetings all....

Up until now I've been just a novice gardener and lurker, soaking up knowledge
from all of you! But now I have what may be a pretty serious gardening
problem. This year I started a new flower bed at our house, and among other
things I planted about 50 gladiolus bulbs. I was really looking forward to
seeing them bloom! The foliage started out great, growing fast, but in recent
weeks some gray patches started forming on some of the leaves, and now the new
blooms are dried-out and unhealthy-looking.

After checking around on the net, it seems they probably have a fungus called
"Botrytis Blight". What worries me is, someone told me I need to remove all of
these plants to avoid infecting my soil and the rest of my garden. Is this
true, or can I just get some sort of spray? Any advice would be greatly
appreciated. I can list the other plants in the bed if that will help.

Thank you in advance,

Carolyn
