I second (or third or fourth) the votes for 'Happy Returns' over
Stella d'Oro. Not only is Happy Returns a better bloomer, its pale
lemon color is much easier to incorporate into color schemes. Prettier
flower, too, a little ruffled, a little bigger.
The combination of Hyperion daylilies with agastache foen. sounds great.
You might also like to try Hyperion with a lavender monarda, such as
Violet Queen. Very nice.
As for The King phlox, mine looked closer to magenta than blue-purple,
except on dark cloudy days, when the blue tones seemed more apparent.
But it was never what I would call blue, or close to it. Maybe I got
a mislabeled plant...?
Bulbs are up 5 inches, iris & daylily foliage pushing out, hellebores
are blooming, buds on some shrubs - and it's getting colder. Ah,
Spring!
