Re: Surprise lilies and Maginot Line of bamboo

Hi Marge,
Mine do okay in a bed with widely spaced, mature peonies-- the lycoris
are in the center space between the peony plants, (the lycoris leaves are
never lying on the peony crowns, the peonies are 3 feet apart) and the
peonies spread out when they come up and hide the bare space. The pink
lilies peeking up in August among the peonies are kind of cute... and the
naked ladies aren't naked. However, they multiply much faster when they
are in open ground and have their own space.
