Re : Lindelofia

Hi Don,
I do love this plant that I discovered 2 years ago, at our plant show in
Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard (next to Paris). This show is with Courson the
major one in France. That year, the subject was : Boraginacées
I grew one plant to try and I took it when I moved to the south of France in
last november. It did'nt like the change and I hope it will survive. I
overwintered it in the pot outside and suppose it'll be OK.
These plants (dixit Botanica) like dry and open sites . The basal leaves are
lanceolate and it's flowering (deep blue) all summer.
They grow best in sun with a well-drained, gritty soil but do appreciate
organic matter like a mulch to keep humidity
Zone 7:10, so better mulch in winter with straw. This species is 2 feet
high.
Another one in the same family which i love too, is borago pygmaea because
it's flowering all summer/autumn and can be use as ground cover.
I'm fond of blue flowers; has anybody other idea about blue flowers?
