RE: blue anemone


Claire, I have had luck with the Anemone blanda, the blue one, here in
zone 5b, even when we had bad winters, so maybe you could get it to
winter over in your area. I have always bought the tubers in the fall
from Van Engelen, soaked them overnight in warm water, and planted in
October. I love the Coronaria and St. Bridget poppy anemones, but have
found no way to grow them here ... they are not winter hardy, but they
take too long to start in the spring and it's gets hot and humid before
they bloom, so they don't ... so many plants to grow but so many more we
wish we could grow ...
