I've read the same thing in Yeo's book and at least one other book by people 
who know a lot more about geraniums than I ever will.
Most of the "Johnson's Blue" floating around in Ontario seems to be plain 
old unimproved G. pratense. I've no doubt the wallachium is also the 
species.
