real cutie at 4-6". All repeat bloom.
I grow G. renardii mostly for its beautiful scalloped, quilted soft gray
green foliage. Large white flowers with thin violet veins. 10", compact
and "pettable", people ask about it and ask for it. (zone 5).
I have never divided mine and they look great. All are great for rockeries

Thanks, Marilyn. I have Ballerina and can tell all that it is hardy under
rock garden conditions in zone 4. It is compact and long flowering here. It
is the best one that I have grown. I'll look for other cineriums. It seems
the list grows longer every year.
I also have Renardi and it is hardy, two or three years, maybe the weather
has been different. Renardi makes it over the winter unprotected growing in
a stone wall and that may be what is necessary. I used to put it in the cold
frame but now I let it grow in the open and so far..........
The weather may go back to being way below zero one day and kill half the
garden. We have had no weather below zero this year and very little below 20
degrees. There has been little snow but quite a lot of wind. Hard to
believe it is upstate NY.
