Maceys is about to turn itself into a garden. In fact, a rather large
garden. :-) Complete with full sized trees and fully grown annuals and
perennials. I believe the gardens will last two weeks and construction
begins this coming Monday for completion by the weekend. Our company will
be shipping a full truckload+ of perennials for the event - a rather large
number of plants. ;-) I even *have* to take a few days to travel to NYC
to photograph the event. :-) This past week I was at the company doing
the actual construction work talking to the owner about the plans and
plants - great fun!
Just for the record, I've just joined Heritage Perennials in the role of
Territory Manager for the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes States. This means
I get to visit all the flower shows and work with garden centres giving
perennial talks to their customers. A fun job and the best part is that I
get full access to the over 1500 varieties of perennials produced by
Heritage. My own garden is about to get a makeover this coming spring! :-))
Heritage Perennials (If I can be given a plug Chris) are the ones in the
square blue pots found mostly at better independent garden centres. If
your favourite garden centre carries them - ask the manager to bring me
down for a talk.
