Thank you for the comments on Crinum. Here is a catalog, online or paper,
that has a large selection of Crinums this spring. Some of these are rare.

I always thought it would be fun to have one of those huge bulbs in a pot and
store it in the cellar with the many other stored things (northern gardeners
all have stored pots in the cellar). Now that the pots have become larger
and heavier and I need help getting them in and out each year, I will give up
on the giant Crinum.
In the way of a confession, I have around fifty stored pots this year and I
think that may be just about enough.
