Re: Artemesia 'Oriental Limelight'

Well, curiosity got the better of me and I've done a bit of searching
on this plant.

Variegated Foliage nursery lists it as hardy from z 5-9

PlantHaven, Inc. says the Breeder/Owner is Richard Harnett and patent
is pending.

site has a nice photo of it for those of you who don't know what it
looks like:

Plants magazine featured it and says :

"This terrific new form of Artemisia vulgaris came from northern
Japan where it was discovered in cultivation by Richard Harnett of
Kernock Park "

Here's the rest of that article...not much else on hardiness..

However, A. vulgaris is the common mugwort (aka common wormwood) - a
totally pernicious weed that I've fought for years - very persistent
roots/rhizomes that go to China...and hardy as a rock. Hmmm...I
wonder if that's why the species is not being listed on the tags and
catalog descriptions for this child?

Well, we shall see whether I will now be doing battle with a
beautiful thug or whether this variety is at all well behaved. I'll
tell ya', if it shows signs of imitating its parents, out it comes,
beautiful foliage or not. I would not wish mugwort on my worst
enemy!
