As for the plants here, they all pushed out in February when we had the same
dreary weather we are having now, even reaching into the 80's. Even the ash
and Redbud trees were blooming, and some coleus returned, much to my
surprise. Then at the end of February we had our typical arctic blast, 48
hours below freezing, 24 hour ice storm, and of course everything is gone
again. Happens nearly every year with summer in the middle of winter, then
winter again, then straight to summer. Sigh. Ah, spring, I always hope I am
home that day.
I always wish for longer cold snaps just to keep the plants dormant. I
imagine we in the south loose more plants over the winter than many of you
up north with your snow blankets. It's hard on them to keep putting out new
growth and having it freeze 3-4 times before spring. I scream at them to go
back to sleep but they never listen.

Haha, don't come to Texas after April or before late October unless you want
to be in a sauna and learn to guzzle Gatorade.
Actually, this drizzle and humidity is nor normal for this time of year and
March is usually gorgeous, perfect for planting. Of course I'm whining now
but will be sacrificing chickens to the rain Gods come summer when even mist
and drizzle is a welcome sight.
My Clematis armandii is blooming now and smells wonderful! At least it's
near the house and is one cheerful sight.
Linda (waiting for the Mesquite trees to push so I know winter is gone for
good.)
