Hello Gale,
What are you using as companions for your oak leaf hydrangea.... or what *will* you be considering? In the March/April issue of Fine Gardening that just came out there is photo of my oakleaf with Spiegelia marilandica, Indian Pink or Pink root. Cream white of oak leaf blooms and brilliant red of Indian pink really makes a show in May. In fact I use oakleaf either as a companion or background most of the year favorite perennials and bulbs.

Mine too Gene! I snuck a small one in the shady border last year and am awaiting it to leaf out this spring. SO has a thing about Annabelle which are OK but I like oakleaf so much better.
