Don't know anything about the alpine, but here in WV we are having a drought too. People's wells are getting low and several counties in VA have closed the spring burning season.

Has anyone grown this little alpine? Looks sweet, but can only find
information about it from British and non-English-language sites, neither of
which are helpful to me about hardiness. I gather that it's a short-lived
self-seeding perennial, but I wonder if it blooms the first year and whether
it's fussy about drainage. Any information would be appreciated. My seed
came from Hudson.
Is anyone else having drought? The soil is dry like powder and there is a
fire watch for this afternoon, of all things (brush fires+high winds). This
shouldn't be, in New England in March.
