Re: naturalized perennial sweet peas

I can't imagine planting Lathyrus latifolius in a garden.  It has escaped
from cultivation here, and covers many kilometres of road and railway
edges.  It looks beautiful in its many shades of pink plus pure white, but
I will continue to admire it only on waste ground.  I wonder how long it
will be before we begin having volunteer work parties to rip it out, as we
do every year to try to get rid of broom?
