Dear Karen (or anyone who care to answer): I saw your post on the
perennials list, about starting seed in paper towels, and I have done this
for those which need to be refrigerated beforehand;
the seeds I've put in moist paper towels in the refrigerator are those of
thalictrum, aruncus, and aquiliegia;
the aruncus package says to put it in cold for 3 months then warm to
germinate; is it okay to have put them in the moist towels now, or should
they be in the cold, but dry and in the packet until 3 months have elapsed?
As to when to take the seeds out of the cold, I guess the aruncus should
come out after 3 months have gone by whether or not they have germinated,
but what about the others, should I expect them to germinate in the cold,
and if not, how long should they be left in the cold?
Thanks so much if you can help.
