Matt, we extended our season last year by setting up a hose with an
oscillating (?) sprinkler head on a bench in the garden. In our part of
the country, the temperature is lowest just before dawn. My husband arises
at 4:30 a.m. (long before dawn), so upon arising, he went out and turned on
the hose. We had no frost damage, even from low temps during that time.
Had we run the hose all night, we'd have had gumbo that would suck your
socks off. Margaret
