Thanks for the great advice. This is a marvelous list. Now I will get
out and mulch, at least! The weather here in the Sierra foothills
hasn't been especially cold this year, but we haven't seen the plants
act like it is spring until now. None of the early blossoms others have
mentioned. The nurseries, 19 miles away but down in the flatlands, are
selling tomato plants already! I am tempted, but I think I'll wait.
The weather people say El Nino is maybe over, but we'll see.
