There are just so many to choose from. Our favorites here in zone 5 are:
Aquilgia
Anemone
Astilbie
Asarum
Dicentra
Epimedium
Tricytis
Tiarella
Pulmonaria
Helleborus
Primula
Ferns
Ligularia
Lysimachia
Polygonatum
Hostas
Heuchera
While we have not had particuraly good luck with these some of our
friends would not be without:
Acanthus
Cimicifuga
Bergenia
Rodgersia
Galium
Liriope
Alchemilla
There are just so many for shady areas. If you can narrow it down a
little or give us an idea the effect you are looking for we would be
happy to offer individual plants that work for us. By all means take a
look at the Heuchera and Epimedium some of the newer varieties are
outstanding. You might vivit our web site a past issue of Yard Talk
addressed shade lovong plants. Hope this helped a little.
