RE: Tilling in mud?

Hi Ginny,

Thanks for the note. And don't worry!! I want to keep reassuring everyone
that all I did was till a tiny little square. Really!! Honest!! You know--
I'm a kid with a new toy-- I simply couldn't resist.

I am aware of the dangers of over-tilling and appreciate everyone's comments
re: this. It has only the been the last two years that I have begun to
develop and amend the soil in my yard. Any dangers of over-tilling are a
long way off, believe me!

I am dealing with CLAY. And we're not talking your basic clay-- we're
talking the real thing. There is even one section in my yard with such
impressive earthen clay, than an artist friend actually dug some and fired a
couple of pots out of it!

Fortunately for me, my yard is big enough that I will have no end of tasks
to do with my new Mantis.

By the way-- they *are* much easier to start now. You pull the cord part
way until resistance is felt, then give it a quick jerk, and there you are.
