If you want a site where you can *hear* the word...
http://homearts.com/affil/gardb/main/plantf2.frm
** type in the name you want to hear in the Name search space..select one
of the plant options...and there should be a speaker icon right by the name
of the plant. Click on that icon...and, *if* you have a media sound machine
installed.....
Typing in common names will give you a list of plants using that common
name. (I used 'verbena', and Verbena, Vervain, Garden Verbena; Rose
Verbena, Creeping Vervain; Vervain; Brazilian Vervain;
Heliotrope, Cherry Pie; and Lemon Verbena popped out of their database.
This is part of Homearts.com, which is set up in frames. I don't
particularly like frames in webpages, so...
If you'd rather enter the Homearts.com complex through the front page:
http://homearts.com/affil/gardb/main/plantc1.htm
** select the 'Plant Encyclopedia', the top icon in the lefthand bar,
which gets you to the same page.
