Re: Scabiosa Butterfly Blue

I have grown this for many years.  It blooms almost nonstop from early summer until after the first frost!  I have some that I deadhead religiously and some that don't get much attentionl  They both seem to do equally well.  I really think you get a much hardier plant if you divide them every couple of years.  They like full sun, humusy and well-drained soil.  There is another cultivar, Scabiosa caucasica 'Fama' which has flowers about 3 inches across.  Puts on a better show.  Flowers are also good for cutting--lasting for a long time!
