Mason bees

Hi fellow gardeners,

It's mason bee nesting time again! Time to set out the welcome mat to bring
these busy little insects into your yards, where they'll cheerfully
pollinate fruit trees (their 'fave'!) and anything else that flowers.

I first learned about these helpful bees at our annual Master Gardener's
show. We have been lucky to have mason bees volunteer in our yard for the
past couple of years-- this year we're making our yard even more attractive
by hanging mason bee condos in strategic locations.

For any of you who aren't familiar with mason bees and their benefits, I can
only recommend that you get to know them! Right now (late Feb through
March) is prime nesting time.

Here's a good URL. A search with any conventional search engine will yield
more results than you'll have time to read!
