Annual scabiosa

Does everyone know that there is an annual scabiosa? It comes in a variety
of colors: white, pink, lavender, maroon, deep purple. The seed packages
are usually mixed. It grows to about 3 - 4 feet high on wiry stems. It
needed support in full sun in my garden. I started it from seed one year
and it grew as easily as zinnias and bloomed as long. The stems are long
and great for arrangements. The flowers are exactly the same form as the
perennial. The bees loved it more than my kid did -- which is saying a
lot. She liked the fact that it looked like a pincushion, maybe more so
than the perennial version.
