Diana, I don't have any information for you but am sick to hear of the
miserable character that found your treasures. I have lots of gardening
books and would hate to lose any of them even though I haven't read many of
them. To lose the ones you do use and are special to you is more than a
crime.
Hope they catch them. It wouldn't seem like there would be much of a call
for this kind of crime.
