greenhouse effect

Greetings: I hope to be able to have a real greenhouse with glass walls and
ceiling in the near future, but am wondering how it works;
at this time of year around here, NYS zone 5, the light starts about 7:00
a.m. and lasts to about 6?30 p.m., but that isn't all direct sunlight, not
at all;
I've been growing seeds under lights for years, and give them 12 hours at
least of fluorescent bulbs quite close to the seedlings;
if I had a greenhouse and put the seedlings into it right now, they wouldn't
have the same amount of light they are getting artificially;
doesn't that matter?
TIA
